The Open School Project is a not-for-profit charter support organization dedicated to improving public education through the promotion of democratic principles and entrepreneurism in the educational workplace. We have founded two successful independent charter schools in Queens and provide leadership search and governance training services to schools in NYC. The Open School Project’s newest venture is OpenSchool ePortfolio™, an elegant web and tablet app for collaborative student-teacher workflow, authentic assessment and 21st century learning skills.
MakerState empowers kids ages 6-18 with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) passion and skill through makerspace labs in robot engineering, fashion/wearable electronics, video game design, 3D prototyping, comic book creation, and moviemaking. MakerState hosts its pop up makerspaces and ongoing programs in after school and school gap time programs, community workshops, summer camps and birthday party celebrations.
